The first step is to check whether you qualify for a free boiler grant. You will not be asked for any payment details.

We Match You to an Approved Installer
If your initial check indicates you may be eligible, your details are passed to an approved ECO4 installer covering your area. All our partner installers are fully accredited, Gas Safe registered, and approved to carry out work under the ECO4 scheme. You will typically be contacted within 2 to 5 working days.
There is no obligation at this stage. The installer will contact you to discuss your situation and arrange a convenient time for a free home survey.
Free Home Survey
An approved ECO4 installer will visit your home to carry out a free, no-obligation survey. During the survey, the engineer will assess your current boiler's age and efficiency, check your property's EPC rating (or arrange for one to be carried out), confirm your benefit status, and determine the most appropriate heating solution for your home.
If you are a tenant, you will need written permission from your landlord before the survey. The survey itself typically takes 30 to 60 minutes.
ECO4 Funding Approved
Once the survey confirms your eligibility, the installer submits your application to the relevant energy supplier for ECO4 funding approval. This process typically takes 1 to 2 weeks. You will be kept informed throughout. In some cases, additional documentation may be required — the installer will guide you through exactly what is needed.
The funding covers the full cost of the boiler, all installation materials, and the labour. You will not be charged anything.
Your New Boiler is Installed
Once funding is approved, the installer will arrange a convenient installation date. A Gas Safe registered engineer will remove your old boiler and install your brand-new, A-rated condensing boiler. The installation typically takes one day. You will receive all warranty documentation and be shown how to use your new boiler and controls.
Common boiler brands installed under the ECO4 scheme include Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Ideal, and Baxi — all of which carry manufacturer warranties of up to 10 years.
